Error Description
All parties must be registered in the ICS. When the party is a Registered Australian Business the ICS uses the ABN (Australian Business Number). However sometimes companies have more complex ABN configuration where there is a requirement to utilise the CAC (Client Activity Centre) component to the ABN to correctly identify the party.
Resolution
Use the ICS to query the ABN via the Client – Search facility. Once found then enter the correct ABN / CAC in the Customs entry screen. Update your customer’s CAC in the Customer Masterfile. This field has enough characters to enter the ABN and CAC numbers.
