Release 11/01/17 – Import Forwarding – Forwarder Detention Terms

This release provides the ability to store Container Detention terms for your clients for specific Forwarders, as well as setting up Detention terms for a Forwarder.

Expedient will calculate the Detention Start Date by searching for Detention terms in the following order

  1. Client, then
  2. Forwarder, then
  3. Shipping Line, then
  4. Default number of days set by the system

Expedient will calculate the Detention start date based on the client, forwarder, shipping line, destination ETA and country of the load port.  If any of these change following update of the job, the Detention start date will be recalculated for each container on the job.

The Container Discharge date has been added as a new start date, to calculate when the Detention on the container, will start.

  1. Customer Masterfile > Importer Tab, now includes Forwarder, Country and Discharge date.

The Forwarder details can be left blank if your client doesn’t have special Detention terms through a Forwarder, with a Shipping Line.

2. Customer Masterfile > Forwarder tab now includes a field to store forwarder agreements with the shipping lines.

3. Container Management screen now includes Container Discharge Date. This date will be supplied by 1-Stop or Port Connect if your site has these interfaces.

 4. The Detention start date will search the client set up, then the forwarder set up, then the shipping line & finally the system default to obtain the correct Detention Start Date
