Release 14/04/21 – Management – Accounting – Job Profit Analysis Screen and Accounting Configured Report – Rule Changes

In this release we have finished modifying the job profit analysis screen and the accounting configured report. The below table outlines the rules for each of the financial columns:

Invoice Total Excl GST This represents the summed total of all debtor charge lines, posted and unposted, excluding the invoice GST amount. Import Duty and GST are included in the total amounts.
Invoice GST This represents the summed total of all posted and unposted debtor GST charges.
Invoice Total Incl GST This represents summed total of all debtor charge lines, posted and unposted, including the invoice GST amounts. Import Duty and GST are included in the total amounts.
Revenue Accrued This represents the summed total amount for all unbilled and unposted debtor invoices lines, minus the invoice GST amounts and any Import Duty and GST.
Revenue Realised This represents the summed total amount for all posted debtor charge lines, minus the invoice GST amounts and any Import Duty and GST.
Cost Accrued The summed total of any expected cost amounts against charge lines within the 2300 to 2800 General Ledger series where there is no paid or journal amount listed on the job financial screen.This column does not display if the expected cost system option is turned off.
Cost Realised This represents the summed total amount for all posted creditor charge lines, minus the invoice GST amounts and any Import Duty and GST
Profit Accrued The summed total of any expected profit amounts against disbursement charge codes.If expected cost system option is turned off, this also contains the balance against disbursement charge lines on the job financial screen. If expected cost system option is turned on, this also contains the balance where a charge line has been paid not but yet billed.
Profit Realised This is the summed total of the balance against the 4000 series general ledger codes.
Total Revenue This is the summed total of both the accrued and realised revenue.
Total Cost This is the summed total of realised and accrued cost.
Total Profit This is the summed total of realised and accrued profit.
Profit Margin Total Profit divided by total revenue, represented as a percentage amount.
Custom Liability This is the summed total of any import Duty and GST entered against the job. This is calculated by summing amounts for all charge codes where Duty Type = Duty on the chart of accounts
Quarantine Fees This is the summed total of any quarantine fees entered against the job. This is calculated by summing the amounts against all charge codes where Duty Type = Quarantine on the chart of accounts.

Please see below for an example of the job profit analysis screen. This is ideal for getting an understanding on which jobs are currently making you a profit and which jobs you can expect to see a profit on in the future, provided all invoices have been entered into the system.

The Accounting configured report provides users with an overview of their financials and job count data over a specified period. This report can be scheduled and set to be emailed to certain users routinely.
