Release 14/04/21 – Workflow – Improvement to colours and layout

This release includes an improvement to the Import Workflow and Export Workflow screens to provide a clearer overview of the current status of consols, jobs and bookings.

Information in similar columns has been consolidated and colour coding has been restricted to the first column to make the text on the rows easier to see quickly.  There are differences between how Workflow is displayed on the Web and on the Desktop

Workflow – Web

This update is available to Expedient users on the Web.  If you would like to use the improved display, please contact Expedient Support

Work Item Column (Web and Desktop)

The first column in the Workflow is now a ‘Work Item’ column. This displays both the Item type e.g. Job, and the Item reference e.g. Job Number. Item and Item ID continue to be available as separate columns and users can now choose to hide these.

Row Colouring (Web with new Display option)

The background colour to the rows has been replaced by a single spot of colour at the beginning of the row.  The colours continue to be set in the Administration -> Workflow -> Import Workflow -> Workflow Colour Mapping and Administration -> Workflow -> Export Workflow -> Workflow Colour Mapping screens

Grey colouring indicates that there are no expected actions

Exceptions and Skipped Milestone Badges (Web with new Display option)

The background row colouring for exceptions and skipped milestones has been removed and replaced by badges in the Work Item column. The badges will apply if your workflow normally shows specific colours for exceptions and skipped milestones.

Exceptions are indicated by ‘!’, e.g.

Skipped milestones are indicated by ‘>>’, e.g.

ETA Today (Imports) and ETD Today (Exports) is indicated by a clock symbol, e.g.

The colour of the badge is based on the settings in Administration -> Workflow -> Import Workflow -> Workflow Colour Mapping and Administration -> Workflow -> Export Workflow -> Workflow Colour Mapping

A key for the badges is displayed in the bottom right corner e.g. .  This will appear only when the workflow is first opened, and will disappear after 10 seconds

Show/Hide Workflow Buttons (Web only)

The workflow buttons at the bottom of the screen are now hidden by default on opening Workflow.  This allows more screen space to display workflow rows. Use the toggle button in the button right corner to display the buttons.

Click  to hide them

Expedient will show or hide the workflow buttons depending on if the buttons were displayed when the screen was last closed

Refresh and Output to CSV buttons (Web only)

These options are now available in the top right corner of the Workflow screen, allowing more screen space to display workflow rows.

Buttons  replace the Refresh and Output to CSV buttons that were at the bottom of the screen

The Output to CSV option will include Item and Item ID columns as the first two columns, even if these are not included in the normal Workflow view

Column Order Preference (Web only)

Future releases that include updates to Workflow will no longer overwrite your preferred column order.  Your preference for the order of columns in your workflow will be retained

Export Workflow (Web and Desktop)

The column ‘Type’ is available in Export Workflow.  This column will appear if your Export Workflow Options configuration is set to ‘show images against lines’.  This option will display an air or sea symbol on each row, similar to Import Workflow e.g. Web view

If you would like to display the Type column, please contact Expedient Support
