This release includes an update to the Import Job Registration screen to include Notify Party Details. The Notify Party name, address and contact details have been added to a Bill of Lading tab, which also stores the Marks and Numbers
The Notify Party code will automatically default to the Client on the job. The Import Job will show the name, street address and contact details from the Customer Masterfile for the Notify Party code.
The Notify Party code can be updated to any other party stored in the Customer Masterfile. The Notify Party name, address and contact details can also be entered into the Import Job, which will automatically remove the Notify Party code.
Default Notify Party
Expedient can store default Notify Parties for Importers based on Job Type, Job Class and Destination Port. Default Notify Parties can be added to the Importers Customer Masterfile using the Options menu ‘Notify Party’
When an Import Job is created, Expedient will try to find a default Notify Party based on the priorities listed
- Find the best match for job type, job class and port code
- If a match cannot be found, match on job type, job class and blank port code
- if a match cannot be found, match on job type, blank job class and port code
- if match cannot be found, match on job type, blank job class and blank port code
- if match cannot be found, match blank job type, blank job class and port code
- if match cannot be found, match on blank job type, blank job class and blank port code
If no default Notify Party is found to match the Job, Expedient will set the Notify Party to match the Importer on the job
When either Importer, Job Type, Job Class or Destination Port are changed, Expedient will only reset the Notify Party code if the Job had a default Notify Party code before the change. If the Notify Party code is not a default, or there is no code and the Notify Party name, address and contact details have been added manually, Expedient will not overwrite them when Importer, Job Type, Job Class or Destination Port are changed.
Notify Party on Arrival Notice/Customs Notice
The Arrival Notice and Customs Notice documents have been updated to show the Notify Party name, address and contact details from the Import Job screen.

User Configured Automatic Reports
The User configured Automatic Reports for Import Orders and for Import Jobs have been updated to provide Notify Party Code, and Notify Party Name as output columns in the reports.
Import Workflow
Notify Party Code and Notify Party Name are available as columns in Import Workflow. These columns are hidden by default
Import Order Tracking
Where jobs are created from Import Orders, and created from Import Shipments, Expedient has been updated to populate the new job with the default Notify Party code.
EDI Manifest
The EDI Manifest file sent from Export Consol Registration screen and Export Job Registration screen to an overseas agent, and from Import Job Registration to an external Broker, has been updated to include the Notify Party details.
The Expedient EDI Manifest load process has been updated to include the Notify Party details so they can be shown in the House Holding screen. If overseas agents are using Expedient format EDI Manifest, they can add Notify Party details to the manifest file.
When Jobs are created from EDI Manifest screens, the Notify Party will be included in the new Import Job. Expedient will also store how the code for the Notify Party was mapped to a Notify Party on receipt, so that the mapping will be used automatically the next time the Notify Party code is used
