This release provides an update to allow users to save a Preferred Carrier for each port e.g. Import FCL carrier Chalmers for Brisbane, Import FCL carrier Coynes for Melbourne. Expedient will insert the correct Carrier for the destination port if it exists or default to a general preferred carrier for all ports.
The Preferred Carrier screen, available from the Customer Masterfile Options menu has been updated with a new Port Column.
The above screen shows that client DEMCON has a preferred carrier COYDEP for FCL imports into Melbourne and they prefer to use carrier CHATRA for FCL imports into Brisbane. Their preferred carrier for all other FCL imports regardless of port is BULTRA. The Import Job registration screens will now insert the Carrier for the Client based on the information in this screen with additional reference to the destination port. This information is also used in the Export Delivery Docket screen. The preferred carrier will be automatically populated in this screen based on the client, the job type and the origin port.
