Release 02/09/20 – EDI Manifest – Create Export Consols & Jobs

In this release, we have extended the Manifest EDI process with the ability to create Export Jobs via EDI. This functionality can be activated for a specific agent by switching the “Receiving Export files from them” flag to yes in the Administration -> Interface -> Manifest EDI -> Agent Mapping screen. When the flag is set to yes, Expedient will check the port of origin and will create an Export job if it determines the port to be a local port.

A contact will also need to be added to the Messaging Contacts tab to receive alerts when an Export manifest is received.

Additional Configuration

Expedient recommends updating the Department Port Mapping Screen. A new column has been added to help facilitate the mapping of the origin ports to their respective departments. Any export manifests for origin ports which have not been mapped will be assigned a temporary Department. This temporary department must be updated in the holding screens before the manifest data can made into a live job. Map commonly used destination ports to avoid this extra work.

The Holding Screens

A Direction field has been added to the Master and House holding screens to indicate whether the manifest contains import or export data.

If you need any assistance setting up the environment, please contact the Expedient Support team.
